Cannabis Social Equity Assessments

CCRP successfully conducted cannabis equity assessments for Humboldt County and Mendocino County in 2019-2020.  CCRP consulted with Humboldt County on the adaptation of the local equity program and developed Mendocino County’s local equity program. In addition, CCRP drafted the Type 2 funding application for both counties.  As a direct result of these efforts the two counties received over $4 million is equity program funding in 2020.

CCRP has multiple staff members with direct experience developing the cannabis equity assessment and the local equity program manual.  The CCRP cannabis equity team includes Dr. Dominic Corva, the co-director of the Humboldt Institute for Interdisciplinary Marijuana Research (HIIMR) at Cal Poly Humboldt. He has been researching and publishing on the impact of cannabis criminalization in California since 2010. He serves on the Board of the Humboldt Area People's Archive (HAPA) and was a founding member of the Humboldt and Mendocino Marijuana Advisory Project (HUMMAP, established in 2011). His peer-reviewed publication "Requiem for a CAMP" is a widely cited publication for the impact of cannabis criminalization in Northern California.
