Elevating Community Voices Through "Data Walks"

The Redwood Region RISE outreach team collaborated with local community organizations to host a series of "Data Walks" across Tribal Lands and the counties of Humboldt, Lake, and Mendocino. These interactive events were designed to share the findings from RRRISE's extensive community research and elevate the voices and perspectives of residents who are often overlooked in economic development planning.

During the Data Walks, RRRISE presented data gathered through interviews, listening sessions, and mixed-methods research. The goal was to get direct feedback and insights from members of the priority communities themselves, rather than just sharing the information in a one-way presentation. This allowed community members to engage with the data, ask questions, and provide their own valuable perspectives.

By taking this collaborative approach and centering lived experiences from priority community members, RRRISE hoped to create a more inclusive and transparent regional economic development planning process.
