$9 Million Investment in Regional Economic Resilience

Redwood Region RISE proudly presents our 10 preliminary Catalyst Awardees—transformative projects receiving a total of $9 million in predevelopment funding to drive economic development and create quality jobs across Tribal Lands, Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, and Mendocino Counties. These high-impact initiatives represent the collaborative vision of RRRISE's 150+ organizations and will advance strategies outlined in our Regional Roadmap.

Our Collaborative carefully selected this portfolio based on multiple balancing factors. The funding achieves geographic balance with $1 million dedicated to each county, allocates 20% ($1.8 million) to Tribal-led projects, and ensures balanced investment across all four key sectors. The resources are strategically distributed between exploratory and last-mile projects to maximize impact and efficient use of funds.

Our selected projects exemplify how cross-sector partnerships drive regional economic resilience through sustainable food systems, renewable energy, affordable housing, workforce training, cultural preservation, and forest management. Over 70% of funding is directed to projects led by priority and disinvested communities.
