Join Our Local Planning Tables

Join our Local Planning Tables in our four counties and adjacent Tribal Lands and share your concerns, ideas, and ambitions with nearly a thousand members in Redwood Region RISE's platform, the State of California, and the broader public. As a member of our Local Planning Table you will collaborate with community members, organizations, and other experts to identify and put forth local projects and initiatives for (state) funding to scale efforts.

Through this opportunity, you can strengthen relationships with local and regional partners, gain access to trainings (e.g., centering equity in economic development) and many more resources, and increase our Region's competitiveness to receive future funding. Your input will help create a sustainable economic vision for our Region.

Local Planning Tables' Activities

Meetings
The first round of the Local Planning Tables' meetings took place between September 25-28, and a second "regional Zoom update" meeting was held on Dec 13, 2023. During the second meeting, Project Coordinators from Humboldt, Lake, and Mendocino Counties* discussed the current direction of our Local Planning Tables, Outreach and Engagement, Empathy Interviews and Listening Sessions. You can
watch the recording here, using passcode NR2m*Jms

Pop-Up Data Walks
Local community-based organizations--supported by the outreach and engagement team--facilitated in-person "Pop-Up Data Walks" throughout Tribal Lands, and the counties of Humboldt, Lake and Mendocino. These Data Walks showcased the culmination of RRRISE's research and outreach efforts across the region--elevating the voices and key research of often overlooked community members regarding economic development.
The goal of these Data Walks was to share information gathered through community interviews and listening sessions with members of priority communities--as well as mixed-methods research--back to the general public to elicit their perspectives.

Insights from Listening Sessions and Empathy Interviews

An essential element of the outreach and engagement activities on a "local" level has been listening sessions and community interviews with our diverse communities. Since late 2023, our Outreach and Engagement Team, specifically North Coast Opportunities' Project Coordinators, supported by facilitators from ThinkPlace West, have been conducting in-depth interviews with Redwood Region RISE's priority communities. It is worth noting that our outreach and engagement activities through True North Organizing Networks' Project Coordinator for Del Norte, Rev. Dana Gill, have looked slightly different. Through various approaches, our outreach teams work to best and meaningfully engage communities in these areas. If you would like to know more, please feel free to reach out to RISEoutreach@ncoinc.org.

To showcase the voices and key insights captured through these community interviews, two Insight Reports have been developed. These are is intended help center the voices and lived experiences of priority communities in the Redwood Region.
