Who Makes Up Our Voting Member Block?

The Voting Member Block is balanced regionally and accounts for all eleven Required Partner Categories* and voices from Priority Communities*. Voting Members were endorsed and voted for by communities in their respective counties, and have stepped forward as leaders because of their community involvement. The Voting Member Block is committed to uphold RRRISE principles and act to further the goals of the Collaborative.

Voting Member Block: Regionally Balanced, With Key Partners and Community Voices

Our eleven Required Partner Groups were established by the State, and are to have an equal voice in decision-making. These include:

  1. Business/Business Organizations
  2. Community-Based Organizations
  3. Economic Development Agencies
  4. Education/Training Centers
  5. Environmental Justice
  6. Federally and non-Federally recognized Tribes
  7. Government
  8. Labor
  9. Philanthropy
  10. Priority (“disinvested”) Communities (see overview below)

*Redwood Region RISE's Priority Communities:

Redwood Region RISE is dedicated to amplifying voices from diverse priority communities, including disinvested populations identified by the California Environmental Protection Agency and those with median household incomes at or below specific thresholds. RRRISE specifically focuses on engaging a wide spectrum of communities, ranging from various ethnic and cultural groups to individuals with disabilities, LGBTQIA2S+ community members, Tribal Nations, and economically disadvantaged populations. Redwood Region RISE, specifically our Equity Council, actively works to build inclusive governing processes and invites participation from representatives across priority communities to ensure their perspectives shape regional economic development.
